What’s the story behind you and your business?
I started doing yoga about 13 years ago while I was working at a fashion PR firm in LA. My best friend since childhood had just started teaching and invited me to her class. It was love at first asana! I cried in that first savasana after a sweaty 90 min flow series, and I new I had found my way home. Home to myself.
I practiced consistently for about 2 years. Flowing in vinyasa classes, finding stillness in meditation and yin, uniting with my breathe…the mat is my sanctuary. The practice brought me so much inspiration, Yoga became my Muse. I wanted to share this gift with others and deepen my own practice so I decided to take a teacher training, with Mukti Yoga School in California. I began teaching regularly in my home town of Manhattan Beach and have been teaching there, and all over the world for the last 10 1/2 years. I truly believe I have found my calling. Sharing the sacred spirit of yoga with others fills my heart with so much love and gratitude for this life everyday.
My teaching lead to leading retreats since traveling has always been another great love of mine. I lead my first retreat in the jungle of Costa Rica 6 years ago, and had such a wonderful experience with the group. So much growth, connection, compassion for one another… I knew this would now be a part of my path. I have lead retreats in New Zealand, Maui, Tulum, Santa Fe, Bali, Sayulita, Ojai…with many other dream destination on the books for the future. I can truly say I am living my dream, and excited to inspire others to do the same.
• What keeps you inspired and gives you bliss?
A daily connection to Spirit, and Mother Nature keep me inspired. I create the most bliss by practicing regularly. Weather its taking a full flow class, or just sitting in stillness for just 5 min of meditation in the morning. That connection to Myself and Source is the most important an inspirational connection there is.
• What do you hope to share with your customers and clients?
I hope to share a high quality of yoga that is accessible to everyone. I hope to create a space where my students feel safe and supported. My intention is to be a guiding light on and off the mat to all my students. Inspiring positivity, self love, community, and connection through the practice of yoga; the union of the mind, body, and spirit.
